What is modern design without the details? Going into the Salone this year, our sights were set on accessories. While we continue to emphasize furniture and its carefully curated placement in our showroom, our vision is expanding to include art – as evidenced by our Gallery launch in February – and decorative accessories in a more prominent way. As we continue our research and seek out great accessory design to add to our collection, we will begin our new project with Venini.
Though we’ve represented Venini locally for quite some time, we are now dramatically increasing what we show, installing a large Venini display in our showroom. Established in 1921, Venini has a long, rich heritage of specializing in luxury handmade Murano glass vases, lighting and decorations. The company has grown to become one of the largest and most celebrated producers of Murano glass in the world, thanks to its attention to research, technique, innovation and close collaboration with renowned designers like Carlo Scarpa, Tomaso Buzzi, Ettore Sottsass and Gio Ponti, to name a few. As a result, Venini’s products are avidly sought by both collectors and museum curators around the world.
Venetian glass making stems from a long and complex tradition, with techniques passed from one artisan to the next over centuries. Venini exemplifies this tradition, while bringing a special affinity for vivid colors and elegant shapes to both its classic design pieces as well as the new designs that are introduced every year. We are excited to build on our partnership and showcase an extraordinary collection of accessories that serve to elevate any interior design.
