DZINE Showroom, bed, chairs, dining table, lamps, nightstand, mirror, lighting

DZINE’s passion for modern furnishings is driven by the belief that good design is ultimately about living with greater comfort, elegance and ease. The DZINE showroom embodies this philosophy, with its carefully curated furniture, art and accessories and it guides its designers and sales staff as they work with homeowners, architects and interior designers and their clients. Through its website, events, gallery and showroom, DZINE seeks to inspire, inform and share the best of contemporary art and design.

It was in this spirit that DZINE opened in a small shop on Columbus Avenue in North Beach in October 2004. The company then moved a year later to its present location in the heart of San Francisco’s design district. Over the past 15 years, DZINE has grown dramatically and now inhabits a 15,000 square foot showroom. Currently featuring over 30 contemporary furniture manufacturers, it continues to add to that number. Originally a purveyor of European contemporary design, and specifically Italian furnishings, DZINE now also represents local makers, artists and a broad range of accessory manufacturers. The company creates a unique opportunity for communication and creative exchange by bridging these worlds through its showroom events that include lectures and exhibitions, making the cutting edge of design accessible to everyone. DZINE seeks to inspire through its ability to stay abreast of current trends while offering products that are truly timeless.

Eve Forbord

Founder + CEO

Eve spent much of her childhood overseas. The daughter of a diplomat, she spent the early years of her life moving often, living in Kenya, Jamaica, and Australia. After earning her undergraduate degree from NYU, she moved to Rome, Italy. She spent the next two years traveling throughout Europe and discovered a love of architecture and design. In 1997 she returned to the United States, choosing San Francisco as the place to lay down roots and return to school to study interior design. After earning her degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, she worked for several architecture and design firms in San Francisco before starting her own design practice. Traveling often to Italy to source hard-to-find products, Eve was determined to find a more accessible way to share her passion for contemporary Italian design with her local design community. She opened DZINE in 2004 to do just that. What started out as a small boutique shop has now grown to one of the largest, most respected showrooms in America. Eve’s desire to maintain strong, personal connections with many of the manufacturers DZINE represents, has allowed the showroom to become a home to a number of small, family owned companies. More recently, DZINE has opened its doors to promote local artists and makers with DZINE Gallery, along with offering its space to local charities and causes, furthering its mission to make connections between people, design, art, and community.
