Celebrating 12 Years With Porro

Porro Closet at DZINE San Francisco, CA

Our brand new 1,500 square foot dedicated Porro closet display celebrates Italian craftsmanship at its finest. Porro represents the best of the best in contemporary closet design today, with an aesthetic governed by clean lines, minimalism and functionality. The designs they debut each year at the Salone del Mobile in Milan set the trends for the coming year. So what is it exactly that makes Porro so special, you may ask? Several things: the use of high quality materials, the attention to detail and artisan technique, the ability to customize production to fit a client’s needs, and competitive pricing. Our unique ability to complete the whole scope of a project allows us to offer better prices the more work you do with us. No one does closets like Porro – why buy the imitation when you can get the real thing at a comparative cost?

Our new display features eight closet systems, all designed by Piero Lissoni and all of which can be customized in finish, size and configuration. Three different versions of the “Battente” or Hinged closet system showcase the different types of doors and internal customizations that are available. The hinged Block door has transparent glass doors and can also be fitted with glass sides, revealing the contents inside. The Hinged system is compatible with other door types, like the handle-less Riff door, which has a linear channel that runs the full height of the door, creating an easy yet discreet way to open the unit.

The Boiserie system is distinguished by vertical wall panels to which shelves and clothing rods can be fixed. This system’s lack of side panels, risers or doors creates a seamless, open surface. The system we’re showing is elevated with its use of floating glass shelving, integrated LED lighting, eco leather shelves, push-to-open drawers and back panels upholstered in fabric. The back panels can also be finished in wood or melamine.

The Shift sliding doors are designed as an architectural divider for the home or office spaces. The system shown here has a eucalyptus veneer wood finish and a bronze integrated Clip handle.

The “Complanare” or Pull-Out Sliding Door system is equipped with a special mechanism that allows a pair of sliding doors to sit flush while closed, creating a consistent and seamless look. The doors smoothly pull out and slide over one another. The system we’re showing has integrated Boite Aux handles, one of Porro’s most popular due to the effect it has of creating a continuous surface across the door. Matte lacquer is a favored finish for the doors, but glossy lacquer, wood or glass can also be used.

Porro’s approach to design places importance on details: angled backlit shoe racks, push-to-open drawers, eco-leather shelves, upholstered back panels, recessed door handles, integrated LED lighting with motion sensors, pant racks, touch-latch laundry hampers, accessory and jewelry compartments, adjustable shelving, and pull-out drawers with a soft close mechanism are all unique features that enhance the function of Porro’s systems.

Porro’s Walk-In/Dressing Room closet system is spacious and provides plenty of storage space. Our system is furnished with glass Iron doors with a sleek bronze finish on the frame, and shelving upholstered in dark brown eco-leather (there are four different colors to choose from). What is truly special about this system are the L-shaped corner shelves; because there is no partition or support beam in place, you get full access to the corners, which means additional space for hanging clothes.

It has been a rewarding 12 years of partnership with Porro and we hope that you are as inspired by them as we continue to be. Stop by our showroom and see our new display in person.
